PALESTINE GAZA
For the last seven days Palestinian prisoners have taken part in a hunger strike to protest the actions against them in the recent months. Some of the things they are protesting against include the illegal use of solitary confinement, deprivation of education, ill medical treatment, denial of visits from their families and also many other threats used against them.
Once this strike was announced strikes, marches, demos and solidarity activities were seen to spark up in all of the Palestinian cities to show a display of solidarity. Since the announcement of the strikes there has been an open solidarity camp outside the Red Cross and student rallies on Monday. On Tuesday the children of prisoners took part in the hunger strike to declare their solidarity with their imprisoned parents, who they have been denied the right to visit for over four years. The children handed over a letter of protest to the Red Cross representative, in Jerusalem, Hebron, Ramallah and Nablus, demanding the right to visit their parents. These cities also saw marches supporting the prisoner hunger strikes organized by the Committee of solidarity with the prisoners.
Today Palestinians marched infront of the Ofer prison and were met with open firre and tear gas but popular activities continued throughout the day. The Palestinian community is asking for your support to make this solidarity an international issue.
On the other side the Israeli prison administration had punished prisoners taking part in the hunger strike to complete isolation. Over 20 female prisoners have been sent to hospital after a deterioration in their health after many days of hunger. The oldest of our prisoners who have spent over 20 years in prison is a number which has been raised to 145 prisoners.
We ask for you to join us in our campaign to free our illegally detained prisoners.
This imprisoned Palestinian activist is Weroud Kassem from the PFLP. Right at this moment of time she is on hunger strike behind the Zionist bars taking part in The Palestinian prisoners’ hunger strike. she started 27th of September.
My deepest sympathy with this hero girl, the hero of freedom, she deserve this honor, we'll restore the freedom by her struggle and steadfastness..
